1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address or phone number (for authentication), and birth details (date, time, and place of birth) that you voluntarily provide during onboarding. This information is essential to generate your personalized astrological readings.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Generate personalized horoscopes and birth chart analysis
• Power AI chat responses based on your natal chart
• Provide compatibility matching
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send daily horoscope notifications (if enabled)
• Improve our services through anonymized analytics

2a. Microphone & Audio

JyotiNow requests microphone access (RECORD_AUDIO) to enable voice input for the AI Astrologer chat feature. Audio is processed in real-time using speech-to-text technology (OpenAI Whisper) to convert your spoken questions into text. Audio recordings are not stored on our servers or shared with third parties. Microphone access is entirely optional — you can use text input instead. You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your device settings.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore (asia-south1 region). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure account management. We do not store your passwords — authentication is handled through Google Sign-In or phone OTP verification.

4. Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, cloud functions
• Razorpay — payment processing (India)
• Google Places API — birthplace autocomplete
• OpenAI — AI-powered astrology readings (your birth data is sent to generate responses; no personal data is stored by OpenAI)

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Chat history is associated with your account and retained until you delete it. You can delete individual chat sessions or your entire account at any time.

6. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023 and GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Data portability

To exercise these rights, use the "Delete My Data" option in your profile settings or contact us at support@jyotinow.com.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you provide consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw cookie consent at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

JyotiNow is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the data immediately.
